 ‘Kalincuang’ (gambir liquid product, GLB) is a liquid waste from the gambir draining process. ‘Kalincuang’ is reported to still contain various active compounds that have the potential as antioxidants. This study aims to determine the effect of ‘kalincuang’ administration on blood flow parameters and heart rate of hypertensive male rats. ‘Kalincuang’ is processed using the freeze-drying method and its dry extract is the standardized; water content, ash content, insoluble ash content, catechin content, and total phenol. Identification of active compound content using LC-MS/MS QTOF. The standardized dry extract is then evaluated for its antihypertensive effectiveness in hypertensive rats induced by Prednison-NaCl and L-NAME (Nω-Nitro-L-arginine Methyl Ester). A total of 15 hypertensive male rats were divided into 5 groups, namely the negative control group, the positive control group and the group given ‘kalincuang’ at doses 10,20 and 40 mg/kgbb. Blood pressure measurements were conducted on days 1, 3, 7, and 14 using the Non-Invasive Blood System from CODA®. Data were analyzed using two-way ANOVA followed by Duncan’s test. ‘Kalincuang’ at doses of 10,20 and 40 mg/kgbb showed a significant effect (P<0.05) on reducing heart rate and blood flow in rats.
